hotel telegrafo cuba .com - A Luxurious Hotel in Old Havana
An authentic and modern hotel from the 19th century in Old Havana, with spectacular views to the Central Park

Architecture

The Hotel Telegrafo, built in 1860, is one of the oldest in Cuba. It was completely reconstructed in 1911 and when it reopened it was one of the most modern of the city and one of the 11 better hotels of Latin America. Later it restored for the Office of the Historian of the City again and it opened up in December of 2001.

This hotel, located in a corner of the Parque Central, it’s in the old neighborhood of Havana but not in the avowed part as Patrimony of UNESCO.

The Hotel Telegrafo mixes the modern design and the old one. The decoration of vanguard has been designed by a Cuban decorator that used a lot of metal and wood of light color with contemporary furniture. In the inner courtyard, it is possible to see the original building; the stone arcades have been conserved.

The hotel Telegrafo has a ceramic great mural to the collage way that details elements of the colonial architecture of Havana, by the artist Eduardo Rubén, and a bubbling mirror of water that magnify the inner courtyard.

A special place is the snack bar, contiguous to the lobby, of singular architecture that transforms it into a piece of colonial patio, with its walls of bricks and naked stonework and its arches of half point, apparently incongruent with its modern furniture.

In the Hotel Telegrafo it’s joined, without being provoking for anything, architectural styles of ends of the XIX centuries and beginnings of the XX, with very modern furniture. Besides, the whole hotel is almost a museum that shows Cuban representative plastic artists' works.

Welcome to my site dedicated to the Hotel Telegrafo in Old Havana,, Cuba. I am "poco a poco" researching and updating it with the aim to provide as complete as possible record of the hotel's ancient and recent history; bearing in mind that the goings-on today may one day be of historical interest.

My site is NOT the official website of the current hotel operator, and is by no means endorsed by them; but I am grateful for their help with the research.

You can make from this site room reservations through the Bizloco eTravel System operated by, Cubaism Ltd.

Best wishes for 2017
